Mainly in the rainy season, farmers will start planting rice. And by the end of the year, in the cold season, they will harvest the rice. Both seasons give you a good opportunity to observe or even join the farmers working in the rice fields closely.

Wat Mae Ka is a beautiful local temple, which is situated in the heart of the village of Baan Mae Ka. This temple provides very quiet and peaceful nature, which gives a good chance to practice meditation (Vipasssana) on your own. In the world of conflicts, come and find the peace of mind here.
Obviously, at Buddhist holy day, you will see many people going to the temples in the morning. You are also more than welcome to join the villagers to attend the morning temple activities including monk food offering and listening to the monk chant.


Many villagers here in Doi Saket grow Longan. It is one of the most popular fruits in Chiang Mai. Longan is a luscious white fruit with a dark brown skin or shell. Easily peeled, it has a really sweet taste. You can join the locals during the harvesting season (Normally July-August) and taste the Longan fruits.
